Helmsman 2023 Rendezvous – Port Townsend

Helmsman Trawlers® was delighted to gather owners together once again in Port Townsend for the 2023 Helmsman Trawlers Rendezvous. Owners arrived by keels and wheels at Point Hudson Marina for a weekend overflowing with friends, food and festivities. It was a joy to reunite with past attendees and a pleasure to welcome new Helmsman family members.

We were charmed with nice weather for the entire rendezvous weekend, experienced fine local food, wine/beer, music, ice cream treats and even took in more fun with the Rhododendron Festival which coincided with the Rendezvous weekend.

Helmsman Trawlers at Boats Afloat Show 2023

Helmsman Trawlers at Boats Afloat Show 2023 at South Lake Union – Seattle! Look for us at the Waterline Boats in-water display where we are exhibiting a 2021 43E Pilothouse. (Location is indicated in the map below) The Helmsman 43E is derived from our popular 38 Pilothouse model. The additional length and width accommodates a second stateroom, expanded salon, more interior seating, larger cockpit….and a whole lot more. If you haven’t been aboard a Helmsman 43E Pilothouse yet, this is your opportunity!

Also in the Waterline Boats display at the Boats Afloat Show is a pre-owned 2018 Helmsman Trawlers 31 Sedan – For Sale. This is another must see trawler.

2023 Helmsman Trawlers Rendezvous – Save The Date!

We are happy to announce May 19-21, 2023, Helmsman Trawlers® will be hosting another rendezvous at the Point Hudson Marina in Port Townsend, Washington! Join us and fellow Helmsman Trawlers owners (and those with boats on order) for another family-friendly weekend of fun, enlightenment and sociability.

What to Expect

Port Townsend is a historic Victorian seaport with a strong nautical heritage. That heritage is still quite apparent today with the Northwest Maritime Center based there, the nearby Wooden Boat School, and shipyards in town – plus our Port Townsend Helmsman Trawlers© office now located at Boat Haven Marina!

Port Townsend is home to a variety of delicious foods, shops & galleries, a fabulous farmer’s market full of local produce and crafts and a must see Art & History Museum. Port Townsend is also home to Fort Worden Historical State Park, where you can explore the old Victorian fort and walk for miles along the beach.

While we are still in process of developing the overall itinerary for the 2023 Helmsman Trawlers® Rendezvous, you can expect planned group events at the marina combined with free time around town. Including the Port Townsend Rhododendron Parade and Festivities which falls on the same weekend of our 2023 Rendezvous.

Fun activities are in store for the 2023 Helmsman Trawlers Rendezvous!

The Logistics

Keep an eye on your email for an official invitation and further information about the rendezvous as the date gets closer. There will be a window in March in which you will make your slip reservation directly with Point Hudson Marina using a code specific to the 2023 Helmsman Trawlers© Rendezvous group.

Can’t Make it By Boat?

If you aren’t able to boat to Port Townsend no problem! There are many places to stay that are still within walking distance of the marina. Here are a few:

• The Swan Hotel
• The Bishop Hotel
• Waterstreet Hotel
• Palace Hotel

You can also explore Airbnb options, and learn more about places to stay from the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. If you are flying in, the Dungeness Line runs daily shuttles between Port Townsend and the SeaTac airport.

Mariner 35 Seville Sedan – Listed For Sale by Waterline Boats

The Mariner Seville is the predecessor to our Helmsman Trawlers®. This 2008 Mariner 35 Seville Sedan is recently listed For Sale by Waterline Boats / Boatshed Seattle. She’s lightly used and shows almost as new. The current owner has kept all exterior surfaces polished and waxed. The interior wood not only looks beautiful, but also looks new.
